Numerology Compatibility

Like in astrology, numerology provides a guide to compatibility between different individuals, whether that be in romantic relationships, friendships, or even business relations. Our numerological profile represents not just who we are, but where we’ve come from and where we could go in our lives – or our destinies. Not only does numerology provide us with a means of insight and introspection into our own lives, that can help us take control and guide us towards fulfilment, but it can also guide our relations with others and the world around us.

In Pythagorean Numerology, the key number that provides a guide to compatibility is the Life Path Number. The Life Path number is calculated from our date of birth. Via the process of reduction, we are left with a single digit, or perhaps two digits in the case of master numbers (11, 22 and 33).

Calculating the Life Path Number

First, write out your date of birth:

15/12/1950 (15th of December 1950)

15: 1+5 = 6

12: 1+2 = 3

1950: 1 + 9 + 5 + 0 = 15 = 6

6 + 3 + 6 = 15

1 + 5 = 6

To measure up compatibility and suss out whether you and another are compatible, or how your relationship might function, etc, then you’ll need to calculate both people’s Life Path numbers.

What If We Both Have Master Numbers?

If your Life Path number is a master number then awesome! However, it is easiest if you reduce this to its root single-digit number when comparing relationship matches and compatibility.

So, 11 would become 2, 22 would become 4  and 33 would become 6.

In the rare event that both of you do have master numbers, then aside from reducing these, you can take this as a sign of great potential but also the possibility of conflict in each other’s grand designs. Of course, master numbers are not always indicative of individualism or true independence, and you may well find synergy with other master numbers, depending on compatibility when reduced to single digits.

Are Any Numbers Totally Incompatible?

Rarely would numerologists interpret two people as grossly incompatible! There is always potential and each Life Path number has the ability to connect with any number. Of course, there are natural resonances, harmonies, and perhaps greater dissonance between some numbers. Whilst relationship compatibility concentrates on the Life Path number, comparing other numbers, e.g. the Heart’s Desire and Destiny Numbers, will also provide insight into your similarities and differences.

Life Path Number 1

Best with: 3 and 5

Life Path Number 1 is independent and autonomous, thus it is often dubbed ‘the loneliest number’. In relationships. Life Path 1 displays these traits and independence can border on bothersome, especially for those who are quite clingy and like to do everything together. Life Path 1 has a great synergy with 3 and 5, as these characters have dynamic and upbeat traits that tend to gloss over 1’s independence and find mutual happiness and excitement that can come in bursts, rather than being constant and oppressive to 1’s independence. 6, as a very understanding and balanced number, can also understand 1’s position and also shows good compatibility.

Life Path Number 2

Best with: 6 and 9

Life Path Number 2 is highly connected and tends to seek relationships and friendships, making it very compatible across the boards. With a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, 2 is very able to solve issues in social situations. It is probably best compatible with 6, 9, and 9. The caring nature of 6 harmonizes with your peacemaking personality whereas the truth-seeking and slightly power-hungry persona of 8 can be balanced out and tuned by you. 9 takes responsibility seriously, as do you, and that can also make a strong match.

Life Path Number 3

Best with: 1, 5 and 7

Life Path Number 3 tends to have an energetic happy-go-lucky side. This can also be chaotic and thus, someone with strong organization can either compliment you or work against you (and vice-versa). However, Life Path 5 shares some of these traits with you and though this might create a swirling relationship of fun and passion, it isn’t without risks of over-intensity! Those with Life Path 7 tend to be contemplative and thoughtful and this can complement some of your action-based habits. 1, as already mentioned, can also balance out 3’s at times chaotic energy with some order.

Life Path 4

Best with: 1 and 7

With balance and structure, Life Path 4 can be determined and hardworking with a strong work ethic. Life Path 8 is similar in this regard, with an additional focus on strength and influence. These two numbers can synergize as well as contrast, though, and couples would have to be wary of becoming too goal-driven. 1, as an independent Life Path also sits well with 4’s structured tendencies. Finally, the flair and expressive nature of 7 makes an excellent fit for 4 as it can help balance out structure with spontaneity.

Life Path 5

Best with: 1 and 3

Loyal, devoted and with a tendency to spark ride-or-die friendships, Life Path 5 can pack a passionate punch. Life Path 1’s independence can make an excellent combination here. The at-times fierce independence of 1 is picked up by Life Path 5 that can inject some chaos into the routine. 3 and 5 can make a power-packed combo and this is not without its risks, but when taken with maturity, this combo can be very dynamic. Similarly, the expression and flair of Life Path 7 combine well with 5’s vigorous nature.

Life Path 6

Best with: 1, 2 and 9

Life Path 6 is one of warmth and balance and thus, Life Path 1 can find comfort and solace with Life Path 6 who can effectively ease their loneliness. A compassionate nature does mean 6 is pretty well paired with most, though, this is a Life Path that is very romantically flexible. Life Path 2’s selfless nature can complement this warmth extremely well, though you would have to be careful of taking too much comfort in relaxation. Life Path 8 can bring about some authority that can help 6 keep their head up also. Lastly, the warm balance of 6 synergizes very well with Life Path 9’s compassionate style of tolerance and understanding.

Life Path 7

Best with: 3 and 1

Life Path 7 is often engrossed in thought and thus, Life Path 3 can bring about more actual action. The deep-thinking nature of 7 means they can be rather independent, and thus, Life Path 5 is a good match in the same way it is a good match with 1. 1 and 7, despite being both quite independent, can make for a very thoughtful relationship. Life Path 7’s thoughtful nature does make them quite freely compatible, though, and they can work well with most given some time and work.

Life Path 8

Best with: 2 and 6

An authoritative and controlling attitude makes Life Path 8 best combined with those who can balance this out. Life Path 2’s diplomatic nature is an excellent match here, as they will deal with you fairly and evenly. Similarly, 4’s structured nature can have a similar effect and can help channel Life Path 8’s penchant for ambition. Life Path 6 also has a balancing nature that links well with Life Path 8’s more driven character.

Life Path 9

Best with: 2, 6 and 9

Tolerant and kind, Life Path 9 is best suited to emotionally sensitive individuals. Life Path 2 here is very balanced and a kind yet structured approach can help bring some well-regimented order to Life Path 9’s life. Life Path 7’s thoughtful nature also synergizes well here, though you will have to be aware of thinking too much and taking action too little. Finally, the warmth and balance of Life Path 6 pairs very well with Life Path 9’s tolerant attitude, and these two life Life Paths can easily find mutual trust and understanding.
